Ground Reality and Management of Uttar Pradesh Against Covid19

UP Covid19

In the second wave of Covid19, novel corona virus speared in a horrendous way in India. Number of patients are increasing incessantly. There is an atmosphere of aghast out there. The entire India become a hotspot of corona virus. Central government of India along with other state governments are showing their stringent endeavor to fight against corona virus. But it is incommensurate because we are the second largest populous country in the world. There are 2, 52,25,159 cases have been registered till May 17, 2021. Out of these patients, 2,15,84,326 patients have been recovered against Covid19. But unfortunately, 2,78,684 people have immolated their lives in the valley of death.  UP is the largest state on the basis of population. Uttar Pradesh have 200 million population. In Uttar Pradesh, there are 16,28,990 total confirmed patients, from them 1,49,032 patients are cured, and 17,817 patients has been waned up to May 17, 2021. But this is according to government’s official data. Ground Reality might be differed from this. I am saying it because there are different aspects on which we should be consentient. For instance, we can consider the number of testing per day. We know that testing of Covid is not taking place up to the level it is needed to be rational. The foremost reason behind this is the smaller number of Static Covid Test per Collection Centres.

In UP, there are only 1260 Covid Test per Collection centres in 75 districts.  In rural areas, conditions are most terrible. For example, twenty-seven people, young and old, have died in the past 40 days in Gagol village of UP's Meerut district, local residents claimed on Friday. District administration officials who reached the village insisted only 15 had died, and "none due to Covid-19". Villagers said it was only recently that officials began taking samples of symptomatic patients.

"They have now started testing after reports of deaths surfaced in the media. Some samples have been taken and people are being provided with Covid kits,"

one of them said. About the Gagol village deaths, Amit Kumar, block development officer, said,

"Fifteen people have died due to natural causes and existing illnesses. Samples of 24 people with symptoms have been collected. They have tested negative after the antigen test, their RT-PCR report is awaited."

As on 10 May, there were 677 Covid cases in Meerut’s rural blocks — Hastinapur had the most (165), followed by Rajpura (102) and Daurala (76). Kharkhauda had 27 cases. Meerut has surpassed all districts of UP in daily Covid infections, deaths and active cases, according to the Covid 19 statistics provided by the state health department for the 24 hours ending May16, 2021. The district clocked 879 fresh cases which is the highest in UP for a day and followed by Gorakhpur at 801 while Lucknow recorded 617 and Ghaziabad 527 cases. Few days ago, UP government launched a web portal for availability of beds in the hospitals. In the Lucknow, there are 3879 beds are available out of 6483 in 73 hospitals. In Agra, there are 1223 beds are available out of 2427 in 34 hospitals. In parliamentary area of our honorable prime minister Mr. Narendra Modi, 1276 beds are available out of 2668 in 61 hospitals.

In Saharanpur district 291 beds are available out of 643 in 10 hospitals. In Aligarh district 833 beds are available out of 1312 in 15 hospitals. This is situations of big cities, nevertheless people are suffering for beds in hospitals. Our print media, broadcast media, and online media are talking about only the big district. The situation of small and other districts is worst. For example, in parliamentary area of our honorable minister of textiles of India Smriti Irani, there are only two hospitals where local citizen can get treatment for covid-19 and in these two hospitals, there are only total 300 beds. In Badaun, Chitrakoot, Mainpuri, and Siddhart Nagar districts, there is only one hospital available in each district for covid-19 patients. In Amroha, Balia, Lakhimpur Kheri, and Sultanpur districts, there are only two hospitals in each district. In Etawah, Hardoi, Kannauj, Sambhal, and Unnao districts, there are only three hospitals are available for the treatment of covid in each district. In Ambedkar Nagar, Banda, Raebareli (parliamentary area of Mrs Sonia Gandhi), Rampur (parliamentary area of Mr Azam Khan), and Sitapur districts there are four hospitals are available in each district.  In Azamgarh (parliamentary area of Mr Akhilesh Yadav), Hapur, and Shamli districts, there are only five hospitals for the treatment of covid-19 virus in each district.

India has vaccinated 18,29,26,460 people, but only around 40 million people are fully vaccinated which is 3% percent of vaccinated people. In UP, around 15 million people have been vaccinated yet out of 200 million people which is only 7.5% of total population. That means we still have a long way to succeed.  The situation is so terrible that people have to wait 12-12 hours to Funeral of their family member. This spectacles are not given the eyes a feeling of paradise. But at the end we must cheers to the hope that ‘We shall overcome”.
